Full time Mom = Craftwork not in Progress
As a full time mother I find it a constant challenge to balance parenting with art. By evening when the children are sleeping it can be difficult to muster up the creative energies for craft work. I have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful times of these few short cherished pre-school years with my little ones. This September one starts school and the other will be starting playschool two mornings a week. I will then suddenly have two free mornings for the first time in 5 years. I won’t know myself! I have pledged not to do any housework or shopping during those mornings, but to indulge purely in my craft work. It will be refreshing to work in early daylight when my energy is at its highest. Until then I will continue to happily snatch the odd few evenings each week to mosey along with my design projects, but sometimes the progress can be frustratingly slow and disjointed. I don’t intend to wish away these last precious summer weeks with my children at home, but there is a part of me extremely excited about the approaching time I will again have to devote totally to my own creativity and work (not to mention making a contribution to the family income!). Hmm, so when will the housework get done?
